From Russia with love

Devastro is being released in Russia! A localized Russian version of Devastro is about to go into retail stores. Under a different name, as you can see from this revisited CD cover:

The cover was almost completely re-created by the company that stands behind the release. For comparison, here is the original cover design that I did. This one is more clear and "in your face", whereas my design was more subtle and had more detail.
That's not to say there is anything wrong with this one - in fact I like it very much!
The back of the box and the disc surface were redone as well with good results, although I'm a bit disappointed that the circular saucer texture was left unused.

I cannot comment on how well the translation was done since I don't speak Russian. I don't even know what the new name stands for (if you do, please leave a comment). As soon as I get the sample copies, I will get someone to try it.

No information on the price or availability (yet). However if you live in Russia and want to buy it there, just ask your local game retailer. If they are any good, they ought to carry Devastro.

Game's Russian name stands for Cannon Fodder. The description states that teh game uses SVGA and PC-Speaker, which I doubt. I think they managed to write a better description on the game site - http://nd.ru/prod.asp?razd=descr&prod=devastro.

The price is 119 RUR. It is roughly $5. Are there any sales statistics yet? The game is fun, but I don't think it suits Russian retail market.

Alexei
Thanks for the translation! The listed system requirements are not accurate but the real requirements are very low anyway.

No sales stats yet, I'm not sure they will be willing to share..
